As a landscape photographer it is smart to always be aware of the phase of the moon and when the moon rises and falls. Sunset or sunrise is always nice for shooting. But, a moonscape image can be very powerful and full of emotion.
Know the moon phase, have moonrise tables and sunrise/sunset tables handy at all times. Tide tables are essential for shooting along the oceans. Or, talk to the locals about the tide patterns. Make sure you aren't caught without a safe exit when the water starts rising.
